Yoshiaki Inoue Galleryは、東京現代2025にて中辻悦子の新作シリーズ「Where are you from? どこからきたの」をご紹介いたします。
中辻悦子（1937年大阪生まれ）は、広告デザイナーとしての経験を経て、60年以上にわたり「ひとのかたち」をテーマに作品を制作してきました。夫である美術家・元永定正を支えながら、出産や育児、家事といった社会的な役割を担い、さらにデザイナーとしても活動するなど、その歩みは決して平坦ではありませんでした。しかし、その中で培われた鋭い観察眼と豊かな感性は、彼女の作品に独自の深みを与え続けています。
新作シリーズ「Where are you from？」では、抽象と具象が融合し、人間の存在や感情に対する深い共感を呼び起こします。点・線・色彩を用いて揺らぐ人間の存在を描き出し、鑑賞者に人間の内面的な美しさや複雑さを改めて問いかけます。
東京現代2025では、100号の大作をはじめ、新作30号・12号を展示します。本展は、進化し続ける中辻の芸術表現を広く紹介する重要な機会となります。

Yoshiaki Inoue Gallery is pleased to present Etsuko Nakatsuji: Where are you from? at Tokyo Gendai 2025.
Born in Osaka in 1937, Etsuko Nakatsuji has pursued the theme of the “human figure” for over 60 years, following her early career as a graphic designer. While supporting her husband, artist Sadamasa Motonaga, she balanced child-rearing, household responsibilities, and design work, developing a resilient practice that reflects her sharp eye and unique sensibility.
Her latest series, Where are you from?, marks a new phase in her artistic journey. Blending abstraction and figuration, Nakatsuji’s works evoke deep empathy for human emotions and existence. Using dots, lines, and colors, she visualizes the subtle vibrations of human presence, prompting viewers to reflect on the inner beauty and complexity of humanity.
At Tokyo Gendai 2025, Nakatsuji will present a monumental size-100 painting alongside new works in size-30 and size-12 formats. This exhibition highlights the ever-evolving nature of Nakatsuji’s artistic practice and offers a rare opportunity to encounter her latest creations.
